Western Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees, The Northern Pikes, will perform their acclaimed debut album, Big Blue Sky, in celebration of its 30th anniversary, at the Schooner Room in Halifax on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 8 p.m.
Along with performing the album in its entirety, the special evening with The Northern Pikes will include 30 years of archival video footage of the band in the studio, on the road, shooting music videos and much more. The band will be joined by Kevin Kane of The Grapes of Wrath for this high-energy tour that highlights the Big Blue Sky album era.
Released in June 1987, Big Blue Sky featured the hit singles “Teenland,” “Things I Do For Money” and “Dancing in a Danceclub.” The album was certified Gold in Canada the year of its release. The band, formed in Saskatoon in 1984, went on to release six studio albums, including four Gold and one Platinum selling album, and were nominated for eight JUNO Awards.
